What is the world’s oldest living language? Given that languages evolve, how likely is it that anyone on Earth today would be able to communicate in fluid speech with any of the homo sapiens of the Stone Ages, if we could travel back in time to interact with them?
the basque language is the oldest living language and dates back to the mesolithic era. there were numerous neolithic languages spoken, but since most, with the exception of pictish and the vinca script, did not have writing, we are not aware of them.
